There is much talk about member engagement, but one wonders if there is a “real” interest. How do you engage your members? How do you use your members? For support? For advocacy? At all?
What steps have you taken to build a community? Of stakeholders? Of donors? Of active members? Of participants? All together or in separate markets?
How do you cultivate this community?
Perhaps an invitational meeting or a short conference? Special programs? Regular communication through technology or newsletters?
How do you monitor growth and commitment?
How do you mobilize your members? These could be public library users, association members, theatre ticket holders, or regular donors – however, you define your community or communities.
And of course, mobilize to do what? Advocate for better funding? Advocate for policy changes? Mobilize for expanding networks?
